American International University (AIU) – Kuwait is a newly established University, the first student cohort for the School of Education will be admitted to the university in spring 2022. AIU offers an American-style education, degrees, and majors to educate and serve the people of Kuwait as well as international students. 

The University provides high-quality, relevant, and varied educational programs and opportunities for the intellectual, cultural, and personal growth of all members of its community. The University values its role as an educational leader that promotes individual development and improves the overall quality of life in a diverse community. It offers academic and professional programs, which lead to baccalaureate degrees in art and design, business, and engineering.

The school of Education will immediately offer degrees in English Education and Math Education. It is expected to offer more programs at undergraduate and graduate levels in future years.

As one of the pillars for the school, the faculty member will deliver a strategic vision for and operational management of the school. The Faculty of Education works with the team to advance scholarship, education, and civic engagement; enhance excellence through diversity in educational programs and faculty and student recruitment; and link the work of the school of education to the faculty and students to other disciplines, communities and interests within and outside of the academy.

The Faculty of Education is responsible for managing all aspects of the class, including the following:

• Implements all degree programs within the school
• A course outlining and scheduling
• Curriculum Development
• Course and Degree Program Assessment
• Promotion of Research and Scholarship
• Maintaining the Education Advisory Committee for the school
• Utilize his/her demonstrated experience with the American institutional accreditation system and process as well as specialized accreditation systems.

The Faculty of Education reports to the Associate Dean and Dean of School of Education and is expected to jointly promote and deliver the program. AIU is a developing university with very dynamic features, it is expected that each member of the School of Education will take part in the university development.

 Minimum Qualifications:

•  Ph.D. or Doctor of Education degree from a reputable university preferred;
• Minimum of three years of teaching and research at a higher education institute preferred;
• Current academic rank of Professor/Associate Professor preferred
• Demonstrated record of collaborative decision-making within the school 
• Have experience in a multicultural and multi-linguistic environment
• Demonstrated experience with budget management for the School's growth.
• An entrepreneurial spirit.
