The Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas Tech University invites outstanding applicants for tenure-track positions at the assistant & associate professor level.  While there is a preference for faculty with research interests in CO2 capture and conversion (e.g., biological, chemical, electrochemical approaches), depolymerization and upcycling of polymers, and batteries, excellent candidates in areas such as catalysis as applied to energy systems, design of materials, machine learning and process control, distributed manufacturing, translational bioengineering/medicine, and nanotechnology will be considered.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field, a track record of outstanding research, and a commitment to excellence in education, student mentoring, outreach and/or community engagement. Applicants with postdoctoral research experience will be given preference. Successful candidates will be expected to develop nationally and internationally recognized and externally funded research programs, develop departmental and multidisciplinary collaborations, foster partnerships within and outside Texas Tech University as well as industry, teach core graduate and undergraduate courses in chemical engineering, develop new courses (including online/distance courses), engage in strategic outreach and engaged scholarship, and perform internal and professional service.  We seek applicants that share our Whitacre College of Engineering vision of excelling as a global leader in engineering education and research. Experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable.

Applicants should apply at the TTU online job application website at http://www.texastech.edu/careers/; use requisition number 25545BR for assistant professor and 22027BR for associate professor.  The application process requires uploading a detailed CV, a statement of research and teaching interests, and the contact information for at least three references.  Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, with those received prior to November 15, 2021, assured full consideration.  Candidates must be currently eligible to work in the United States.
