Job Description
Duties include teaching core CACREP courses and specialty courses in the Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling program at the master’s level, and teaching in the doctoral program. In addition, this faculty member will advise masters and doctoral students, serve as internship coordinator for the Meridian campus, supervise practicum and internship students across counseling specialties, direct dissertations, engage in scholarly inquiry, and maintain a record of university and professional service. Key responsibilities include: 

  • Teach various CACREP core classes at masters and doctoral level
  • Teach Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling classes in line with CACREP standards
  • Internship Coordinator
  • Engage in scholarly inquiry
  • Publish in ACA family of journals and those related to rehabilitation counseling
  • Provide service to the counseling profession and university
  • Advise masters and doctoral students
  • Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with health, rehabilitation, and counseling professionals, and disability-related organizations
  • Assist with CACREP accreditation and recruitment and retention of students

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Doctorate from a CACREP Counselor Education and Supervision doctoral program, or CORE accredited program in Rehabilitation Counselor Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, or closely related discipline or provide evidence that doctoral degree will be earned by time of appointment
  • Ability to teach CACREP core counseling courses and specialty courses in clinical rehabilitation counseling
  • Ability to provide supervision to masters students in clinical rehabilitation counseling, and across other counseling specialties as needed
  • Desire and ability to establish an active scholarship and grant’s procurement line of research and professional service
  • Licensable and committed to obtaining license in the state of Idaho as a licensed professional counselor (LPC)
  • Eligible for credential as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC)
  • Evidence, and interest, in collaboration with health, rehabilitation, and counseling professionals, and disability-related organizations
  • Value and commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience teaching at the graduate level with evidence of teaching effectiveness
  • Evidence of scholarly inquiry
  • Evidence of active involvement with state, regional, and/or national counseling and rehabilitation counseling associations
  • Publications in the ACA family of journals and those journals related to rehabilitation counseling
  • Credentialed as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor
  • Evidence of working with students from historically marginalized populations
