POSITION:

The School of Music at California State University, Fullerton invites applications for a part-time faculty position in music history/musicology. Primary responsibilities include teaching academic music history classes, and working with full-time music history faculty to continue to develop curricular course offerings in this area. Part-time positions at CSUF are eligible for a benefits package depending on the credit load taught each semester.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Master's degree in Music History, Musicology, or Ethnomusicology.
  • Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Preference will be given to those holding the Ph.D. in musicology or ethnomusicology, or who have significant work towards the completion of one of those degrees.
  • Teaching experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.

    COMPENSATION:

    All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only. Typical starting salaries for part-time faculty range from $5,046 to approximately $6,055 per semester for a three-unit class.
