Job Summary

The Department of Psychology at Louisiana State University anticipates filling one tenure track assistant professor position within the Clinical Psychology program effective August 2022. This appointment will be full-time (nine-month). The candidate will be asked to contribute to existing graduate training specializations in either clinical child psychology or clinical neuropsychology. Candidates with the potential to strengthen our commitment to diversity and inclusion are highly desirable.

This position will be part of the APA-Accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology, which endorses a model of training that places a strong emphasis on clinical research. Thus, the person in this position is expected to maintain a strong research program with potential for extramural funding in any area related to child clinical or clinical neuropsychology that makes an important contribution to the field. The position will also need to contribute in important ways to the teaching and service mission of the department. The department also houses a psychological clinic which can support clinical research activities, including those related to clinical child and neuropsychological assessment and intervention. Many faculty members also maintain active clinical or research partnerships with area hospitals and schools.

Please contact the chair of the search committee, Dr. Paul Frick (pfrick@lsu.edu), with questions. More information about the Clinical Psychology program at LSU can be found at: https://www.lsu.edu/hss/psychology/grad/prospective-student/areas-of-specialization/clinical.php

Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field, with strong potential for establishing an active research program.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who are license eligible in Louisiana and can supervise students in a clinical practicum. Preference will also be given to those applicants who can strengthen our commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. LSU and the Department of Psychology are firmly committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty; thus, women and those from underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply. An offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check.
