Washington and Lee University invites applications for a
tenure-track position in Physics at the rank of Assistant
Professor. The appointment begins July 1, 2022. Candidates should
be prepared to teach across the physics curriculum, including
introductory physics and topical courses at the upper-level.
Candidates should also be prepared to mentor undergraduates in a
productive research program; physics-related area of research is
open. Startup funds and laboratory space are available.
W&L is ranked in the top twelve liberal arts institutions
with a thriving physics degree program in the Department of Physics
and Engineering. The department mentors a very active and
talented group of students, averaging about 5-12 physics majors per

Ph.D. in a field of physics or related area is required.
Undergraduate teaching experience is highly desirable.
