Full time, faculty position in the Franks School of Education beginning January 2022. Doctorate preferred with a minimum three years of U.S. public school teaching experience and a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level. Successful teaching demonstration required.
Responsibilities:Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses related to curriculum and instruction for elementary education. Position also includes program assessment and leadership duties, academic advising and supervision of field experiences and student teachers. Candidate must have a clear understanding of the function of teacher education programs including professional mentoring and current research in teacher education. Ongoing collaboration with colleagues and school partners is required.
The Franks School of Education has a long tradition of preparing future teachers. The program positions teacher education graduates to be effective P-12 educators through the incorporation of extensive clinical experiences and utilization of performance-based measures for assessing teacher candidates’ readiness.
