Position Overview:

Under supervision and general direction of the Manager of Application Services, the Application Administrator II supports Office 365 and related Microsoft services for centralized, enterprise-level technology service delivery. In this role, you will work on a variety of projects and will play a key part in making sure that end results are designed according to the relevant patterns and analyses. Helps to ensure the area’s technological level remains up to date and provides 24x7 availability support for assigned applications. Helps with solutions to problems that may arise in an expeditious, efficient, and timely manner. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of the University of Central Oklahoma. Hybrid/Remote option available. Must complete on-site orientation up to 30 days as determined by position.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions:

Performs all aspects of functional system administration and technical application management for assigned applications. Communicates and fosters professional relationships with clients (faculty, staff, students, external), committees and departments. Coordinates with other OIT departments for integration and connectivity. Works with system administrators, database administrators, application administrators, software developers, and web administrators in installation/upgrades and maintaining services, as appropriate. Participates in IT project committees and appropriate application user groups. Supports and delivers on assigned PMO projects with requirements developed through the collaborative effort of cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Responsible for maintaining and managing the university’s Microsoft Office 365 and related applications such as Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Exchange . Aids in integration of services with other cloud-based applications and tools.
  • Performs implementation tasks related to Microsoft O365 applications and other cloud applications, including configuration, integration, custom programming and end user rollouts. Reviews manual processes and automates tasks when feasible.
  • Responsible for Microsoft O365 application organization, coding, publishing, and updates; evaluating site performance with thorough analysis; and ensure all web properties adhere to security and accessibility guidelines.
  • Proactive approach to monitoring performance and capacity to ensure access, availability and usability of supported systems.
  • Research, recommend, and implement new technology
  • Provide guidance, roadmap recommendations and strategic inputs as a SME of the platform
  • Manage and document all stages of IT Asset Lifecycle Management
  • Represents the Microsoft O365 platform in change problem and incident management.
  • Fields engineering-level Microsoft 365 escalations as well as root cause analysis.
  • Maintains up-to-date technical knowledge by attending seminars vendor presentations and reading professional literature.
  • Provide monthly metrics on platform usage and key measurements
  • Discovers, designs and implements SharePoint solutions for clients.
  • Creates and maintains documentation including diagrams, operational and support procedures. Publishes client-facing support documents to improve user experience. Collaborates with Technology Resource Center trainers and support staff to create online training modules and deliver scheduled and just-in -time application training opportunities.
  • Maintain access, security, scalability and usability of assigned application(s).
  • Researches and communicates new features of assigned application(s) and unused tool functionality to drive the platform expansion and adoption, which includes developing road maps, guides, standards and procedures.
  • Interacts with end users, service desk, team members and stakeholders in gathering information to define and document required changes to the environment. Assists IT management in preparing business and use cases.
  • Interacts with customers and development team to gather and define requirements. Designs, creates, tests, and maintains content solutions to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications / Experience Required:

Requires a bachelor's degree plus 5 years enterprise application experience or 8 years of comparable work experience.

Proven track record of successful implementations of Microsoft O365 in a large enterprise environment including installations, implementations, project management, requirements gathering, and customization .

Qualifications / Experience Preferred:
  • Identity and Access Management via Azure AD.
  • Azure Information Protection.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Azure services with Office 365.
  • TeamDynamix experience is a plus.
  • Microsoft Certifications preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Extensive experience in Microsoft O365 administration and support. Extensive experience in administering an Active Directory environment. Experience creating, modifying, and troubleshooting scripts within a large enterprise using languages such as PowerShell, PowerShell ISE, shell. Ability to accomplish tasks both independently and collaboratively. Knowledge of Active Directory Services and Microsoft O365 integrations. Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office productivity apps and other Microsoft tools. Ability to troubleshoot a computer and MS Office applications. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a highly changing environment.

Must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical, organization and collaboration skills. Ability to work well under pressure, handling multiple tasks and balancing multiple objectives, while consistently ensuring the timely completion of priority objectives. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to author procedures, knowledgebase articles and proposals. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users. Ability to facilitate team interaction and client meetings effectively. Ability to work independently or with specialized group and maintain courteous attitude in dealing with students, faculty, and staff. Manage and prioritize work effectively with minimal supervision. Proficient with Microsoft Office Professional. Continually updates skills and knowledge relative to the position and the technology industry. Adheres to and complies with UCO’s shared values and the Office of Information Technology’s Code of Ethics. This position may be assigned 24x7x365 on-call rotation responsibilities and requires the successful candidate to have high-speed internet access to their residence, and maintain a smart phone on which to receive telephone calls, email, SMS messages from servers and authorized OIT personnel.
