The Department of English and Literary Arts occupies a
distinctive position in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social
Sciences. English has two major components - creative/performative
and theoretical/literary historical. Students bridge the two areas
while concentrating more in one. In addition, English has three
separate constituencies - undergraduate majors and minors, MA
students pursuing literary studies, and PhD students who focus on
creative writing (poetry, prose, and hybrid genres) or literary

The Department of English and Literary Arts at the University of
Denver invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor
position in Victorian Literature with expertise in the literatures
of the former British Empire, including the transatlantic/global
novel in English to begin in Fall 2022. We welcome all research and
teaching interests in this field, including those that would
contribute to departmental strengths in studies of race, gender and
sexuality, print technologies and/or media.
Duties of the position include teaching undergraduate and
graduate courses, directing undergraduate and graduate theses,
advising undergraduate and graduate students, and contributing to

The salary grade for the position is UC.
The salary range for this position is $65,000-$75,000.
