Position Overview
Develop and implement undergraduate recruitment and admissions
strategy across entire university or for a particular school,
program, or student segment. Define and track enrollment targets
and suggest approaches to achieving them. Direct recruitment and
admissions staff and work with them to establish standards and
effective processes. Resolve issues with internal and external
stakeholders. Collaborate with other functions (registration,
administration, marketing, alumni relations) to develop integrated
approach to attracting and retaining students.

Functions
Reports directly to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment in
the Division of Enrollment and Student Success. Contributes
to the successful accomplishment of the University's enrollment
objectives by developing and implementing a comprehensive student
recruitment plan for all undergraduate enrollment (including
freshmen, transfers, adult learners, and other special
populations). Develops data-driven recruitment strategies by
effectively utilizing data from a variety of sources to evaluate
student characteristics and trends, as well as the University's
market position and competition. Implement those strategies and
report on outcomes. Ensures the efficient processing of admission
applications by developing and administering policies (especially
those established through the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher
Education), procedures, and systems that provide quality admission
services for prospective students. Oversee the policy
administration of undergraduate admission, transfer of academic
credit, and residence for fee purposes. Responsible for verifying
decisions rendered in accordance with the policies. Develop key
performance indicators and regularly monitor marketing initiatives
and effectiveness, including return on investment in such areas as
direct mail, printed materials, video and social media campaigns.
Facilitates a work environment that encourages knowledge of,
respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of
other cultures or backgrounds. Remains competent and current
through self-directed professional reading, developing professional
contacts with colleagues, state, regional, or national associations
connected with recruitment & admission development, etc.
Oversee off-campus efforts to recruit students by sending
admissions counselors to targeted high schools and geographic
areas. Supervises the Undergraduate Admissions, Undergraduate
Recruitment, and Campus Tours operations.
Qualifications/Experience
Required
A record of successful and innovative experience in leadership and
administration. 5+ years of progressive experience in college
admissions and recruitment, with while leading planning, including
program development and innovation, program prioritization, and
assessment. Appropriate profession accomplishments and credentials.
A master's degree in a related field. Possession of a valid
Driver’s license and maintenance of a driving record sufficient to
maintain insurance coverage under the University of Central
Oklahoma.
Qualifications/Experience
Preferred
A master's degree in Communications or
Marketing; Related experience in higher education.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Proven track record of success in managing multiple areas/units and their resource allocations including budget and personnel. Demonstrated expertise in facilitating organizational development and change. Competency for analyzing recruitment-related data and assessing programming activities as part of a strategic enrollment planning initiative. Understanding of the innovative uses of technology in the recruitment process. Understanding of customer service and expectation management best practices. Experience working with diverse populations.
