Job Description:

Direct responsibility for providing financial oversight of the Institute’s budget and expenditures, Responsible for business-related affairs, including but not limited to the functions of planning and budgeting, reporting, purchasing, payables, receivables, contracts, and internal control accounting. Manages advanced analytical and project management strategies to evaluate and monitor the implementation of internal administrative and fiscal compliance. Employee will be required to provide assistance with the Institute’s grants coordination and submission. Responsible for establishing and implementing guidelines, policies, and procedures in all of the above areas. Performs a variety of administrative duties and professional support services, including but not limited to managing email, calendar/schedule and correspondence and information gathering on behalf of the UFII Director. Assist the Director in scheduling, organizing, and coordinating Institute events. Coordinate Director’s professional travel arrangements.

Develops and maintains systems for the Director’s effective management and reporting for all non-financial resources. These include, but are not limited to, space, staff effort, parking, transportation and fixed assets. Performs data entry and acts as the local point-of-contact for the Institute with regard to the College and University reporting and management systems for these resources.

Develop and maintain an extensive network of local and regional partners including contacts within the various departments/disciplines at UF. Foster collaborations, working with contacts to identify the needs of UF researchers, trainees and the community to align UFII programs and services utilizing advanced marketing strategies.

Supervise UFII Administrative Assistant in event coordination, implementing developed communications strategy, fiscal processing, and office management.

Develop structured, ongoing communication strategies to assure community engagement. Coordinate the development of program materials including educational materials, marketing materials, websites, forms, and reports related to the UFII. May develop and submit news releases to the OR’s Research Communications Office.

Expected Salary:

$51,500 - $60,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in grant and contract administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with UF’s proposal submission process and grants and coordination.
Experience with budgeting and reporting.
Experience with UF fiscal, HR, and Grants policies and procedures.
An individual with high integrity and a strong background in business administration. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with faculty and staff to resolve complex issues. Competence with Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
