The Department of Political Science in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences seeks applicants for a tenure track faculty position in Public Administration beginning August 1, 2022.  The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, maintaining scholarly productivity, and participating in service at the department, college, and university levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach a 4/4 load during the academic year (Fall and Spring semesters) consisting of both online and in-person modalities; conduct scholarship; provide service to the department, college, university, community, and discipline; serve on dissertation committees; and mentor graduate students.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ph.D. at the time of appointment in Public Administration or Political Science;
  • Teaching and research interest in Public Administration;
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship;
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Teaching and research interest in rural policy or administration;
  • A record of effective teaching appropriate to the applicant’s career stage;
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting;
  • A record of mentoring students of diverse backgrounds.
