Position Summary: The Associate Dean of Campus Operations
oversees the day-to-day campus environment and provides leadership,
general direction, and administration of the campus’ facilities,
maintenance, and custodial services, financial support services,
emergency preparedness, and auxiliary services (e.g. campus
security, campus bookstore, food services). He/she assists the CEO
in managing the overall budget and serves as a liaison with
appropriate local, State, and College officials. Incumbents
must possess the proven ability to effectively work with a
culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff,
and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written
communication skills along with strong Information technology
literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook,
Teams, etc.) Minimum Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in an appropriate field with five (5) or more
years of related experience in higher education or academic
administration, and at least three (3) years of supervisory
experience; or a combination of education, training, and experience
that would provide the competencies required for successful
performance of the position’s essential duties.
Successful Candidate must have or must possess:
- Experience in budget and fiscal management.
- Experience in facilities and Capital Planning and
- Experience managing Campus Operations and Security.
- Experience in Higher education administration.
- Experience providing/leading Supervision and training.

Example of Job Duties: Under the direction of the College
CEO, the Associate Dean of Campus Operations is accountable for the
day-to-day campus environment and provides leadership, general
direction, and administration of the campus’ facilities,
maintenance, and custodial services, cashier and business office,
information technology, emergency preparedness, and auxiliary
services (e.g. campus security, bookstore, and food services). The
incumbent will also assist the CEO in managing the overall budget
and serves as a liaison with appropriate local, State, and College
officials. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
budget preparation and management of cash and fiscal affairs,
facilities operation, improvement and acquisition; equipment
procurement/fixed asset management; emergency preparedness/campus
safety; information services/internal communications, and operation
of auxiliary services. Incumbents may be required to make public
presentations to key officials, organize campus events, and move
around campus for operating responsibilities. In addition to
the accountabilities listed above, the Associate Dean of Campus
Operations is required to carry out the essential duties of
attendance and participation at convocation and commencement
ceremonies; service on assigned committees and task forces;
attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and
professional meetings. May require travel to off-campus locations
and may work some evenings and/or weekends. This posting
includes qualifications, experience, and skills but is not limited
to the full specifications stated in the job description.
- Two (2) years of experience in budget preparation, financial
management, or operations including budget responsibility.
- Knowledge of, and ability to apply relevant state and federal
laws, statutes, and regulations.
- Ability to analyze budgetary and financial management problems
accurately and develop effective courses of action.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and/or Access, including
manipulating data sets and analytical experience in education
policy and funding.
- Experience creating and implementing emergency preparedness
policies and procedures.
Salary Range: $85,478 – $106,848 approximate annual plus excellent
State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe
