Assistant Professor of Cognitive and Behavioral Science (2021)



The Cognitive and Behavioral Science Department at Washington and Lee University ( https://my.wlu.edu/cognitive-and-behavioral-science ) seeks to fill a new tenure track Assistant Professor position, beginning July 1, 2022, to serve our growing major. This position carries a 5.5-course teaching load distributed over Fall and Winter terms (12 weeks each) and the university’s signature 4-week spring term. Competitive applicants will demonstrate commitments to undergraduate instruction, engagement of undergraduates in research, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. We seek candidates with strong computational skills whose teaching responsibilities will include statistics, one of our introductory courses, courses in their area of expertise, and courses in the Data Science minor ( https://www.wlu.edu/academics/areas-of-study/data-science/ ). The area of expertise is open, but preference will be given to candidates who broaden the disciplinary scope of our department’s faculty. We welcome candidates interested in joining a community-oriented department that values teaching innovation and mentoring students in their intellectual, personal, and professional development.
