The Larner College of Medicine at The University of Vermont, Department of Neurological Sciences, is soliciting applications to fill an Assistant/Associate/Professor position in the Education Scholar Pathway. Primary responsibilities include teaching in the Graduate Curriculum for physical therapy and neuroscience graduate students (Gross Anatomy and Neuroscience) and the Vermont Integrated Curriculum for medical students (Foundations of Clinical Science and Medical Neuroscience). Academic advancement at the Larner College of Medicine requires excellence in teaching as well as scholarly contributions, particularly in the areas of medical and graduate education.

Qualified candidates should have a doctoral degree (MD or Ph.D.) in biological or a related science, and 2 or more years of related experience in human donor dissection-based laboratory teaching. Knowledge of human gross anatomy and neuroscience is required. Additional requirements include a passion for teaching, knowledge, and use of active learning strategies, strong interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work in team-based education for learners varying from undergraduates to postgraduate learners. Preference will be given to candidates with advanced training in human gross anatomy, human neuroanatomy, and evidence of educational scholarship.

The Department is home to world-class researchers, physician-scientists, and educators who blend clinical excellence in the treatment of neurological conditions with outstanding research of nervous system function and dysfunction and the education of diverse learner populations from undergraduates to postgraduates. The Department plays an active role in the Neuroscience Graduate Program leading to the Ph.D. in Neuroscience.
