Position Information Working Title:  Lecturer - Scenic Design

The Theatre and Dance Department at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay seeks applicants for a Lecturer position in Scenic Design.  This position will be responsible for enhancing UW-Green Bay’s mission-driven inclusive teaching efforts and creating and maintaining an educational environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates those with diverse identities, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Performance Design, Scenic Design, Scenic Painting, Stagecraft, and additional courses related to the candidate’s specific expertise.
  • Responsible for the scenic design of four annual mainstage productions.
  • Supervise Independent Studies and internships.
  • Advise and mentor students in the development of design projects and career development. 
  • Perform department service and contribute to the ongoing programmatic development of the department.
  • Implement inclusive instructional strategies to increase support for students from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds at UW-Green Bay.
Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master of Fine Arts or terminal degree in Theatre or Performance Design
  • Fluency in the current technologies of design for performance. 
  • Primary design expertise should be in Scenic Design, with additional expertise in at least one other area such as sound, projection, or entertainment technology

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Expertise in Sound, Projections, CAD, Technical Direction, Lighting, or other areas of technical performance production
  • Applicants with experience teaching in a higher education environment

Position is a full-time, 9-month, Academic Staff appointment.  Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Salary

Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
