The Counseling Program at the University of Central Missouri is excited to invite applications for a 12-month tenure-track assistant professor position. The successful candidate will assume a range of responsibilities including: teaching graduate courses in the Counseling Program (at both Warrensburg and Lee’s Summit campuses), providing clinical supervision and academic advising; participating in broad-based university, college, departmental, and program committee work and professional service; and conducting research and scholarly activity. Earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision, from a CACREP -accredited program within 1 year of hire required. Computer Skills Other - Competence in instructional technology Experience
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Experience in K-12 school counseling;
  • Knowledge of Comprehensive School Counseling Program;
  • Experience providing supervision to counselors-in-training at the master’s level;
  • Evidence of successful teaching and communication skills in Counselor Education and Supervision;
  • Interest in providing leadership with professional counseling associations;
  • Identified research agenda and interest in working with research teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
  • School counseling certification or eligibility for school counseling certification in Missouri within one year of hire or licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional counselor in Missouri within one year of hire;
  • Registered Play Therapist or Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor;
  • Experience with CACREP standards and familiarity with the accreditation process;
  • Ability to contribute to relationships among faculty, staff, and students in the professional environment;
  • Experience in hybrid and/or online instruction and development;
  • Demonstrated ability to actively collaborate and communicate with colleagues, local stakeholders, and within the counseling profession;
  • Demonstrated interest in working with diverse populations and social justice advocacy issues;
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to evidence-based school counseling practices.
