The Department of Human Performance, Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders at West Virginia University (WVU) is seeking two full-time, tenure track (12-month) Assistant or Associate Professors of Audiology. Both faculty will contribute to a well-established program with a tradition of excellence in teaching, scholarship and service at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank. The successful candidates will contribute to the mission of WVU and the program in Communication Sciences and Disorders housed within the School of Medicine.

The successful candidates will provide high-quality teaching, establish and/or maintain a funded research program, direct student research and participate in clinical practice. Specifically, the successful candidates will participate in area(s) of scholarship appropriate to areas of expertise leading to peer-reviewed publications and external funding. In addition, the faculty members will provide instruction to students at the undergraduate and graduate level. Individuals with expertise in cochlear implants, pediatric habilitation, adult audiologic (re)habilitation, and vestibular assessment and intervention, but expertise in all aspects of the field of Audiology will be considered. The successful candidates will also participate in dissemination of research findings in various formats including regional, national, and international conference podiums and posters, and peer-reviewed journals; contribute to a department culture of collegiality, collaboration, and trust; will promote and demonstrate innovation and resourcefulness, and will seek to promote partnerships within the department, community, and other related programs. Active engagement in departmental, university, and professional service activities is also expected.

Qualifications :

Applicants must meet the following criteria for consideration:
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology or eligible for CCC-A;
  • PhD/EdD required or completion by August 1, 2022;
  • West Virginia Audiology license or eligible for a West Virginia Audiology license;
  • Record of publications commiserate with experience.
All qualifications must be met by the time of the appointment.

The WVU Health Sciences Center includes the Schools of Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry, Public Health and Nursing. The appointment date is negotiable but would begin on or around July 1, 2022, with the goal to have the successful candidate identified no later than March 1, 2022. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
