Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor faculty position in the Department of Social Work and Human Services beginning August 1, 2022. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.

 

Responsibilities Include:
  • Teaching predominantly in the Master of Social Work Program, with an emphasis in clinical practice courses, with additional courses taught in the undergraduate Human Services Program
  • Maintaining and growing a strong research and scholarship agenda since KSU is an R2 institution
  • Providing service to the Department, College, University, Profession, and the

 

The successful candidate must have:

  • earned doctorate or its foreign equivalent in social work, human services, or other closely related field,
  • a Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE-accredited program,
  • a minimum of 5 years post-Master of Social Work clinical practice experience,
  • advanced clinical license (L.C.S.W. or equivalent),
  • and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and

 

ABD’s with substantial progress towards dissertation defense may be considered. These candidates must include in their application materials a letter from their dissertation chair with a projected date of defense. Degree must be earned by the start date.

 

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • practice with populations experiencing behavioral health challenges (e.g., substance use and addictive disorders, mental illness, developmental and intellectual disabilities)
  • evidence of teaching and practice with culturally and ethnically diverse populations and communities
  • experience using different teaching modalities (e.g., online, hybrid) and also using classroom management strategies that enhance success of diverse learners
  • interest and experience in program development and leadership
  • evidence of a research agenda, record of scholarship, and a commitment to seeking external funding that aligns with practice
