Job Summary: This position is responsible for the instructional delivery of assigned educational program(s). The incumbent actively participates in the overall operations including development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of assigned programs and makes revisions as required, to ensure alignment of classes and programs with HACC's Strategic Plan, industry standards, program accreditation requirements, and compliance with Middle States Standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degre and 5 years experience or combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Licensing Requirements:
  • Current PA state certified EMS instructor (NCEE acceptable)
  • NREMT certification required at EMT level or above (AEMT, PHRN, Paramedic)

Hiring Range: $46,329 - $57,911

Preferred Qualifications: Advanced level EMS certification (NREMT preferred)

Job Specific Task List:
  • Prepares course and lab materials for training in assigned area within the EMS Training units; reviews and maintains course content, assuring relevancy and compliance with HACC and industry standards and policy; gathers student information at the beginning / end of class, such as student release forms, permission for photography forms, program specific information, course/instructor evaluations.
  • Provides on-line and classroom instruction at HACC Public Safety Center (PSC) and other off-site locations such as high schools to students in assigned area(s) within the EMS Training units; selects, develops, and delivers curriculum, including lectures, discussion, quizzes, labs, hands-on assessments, and exams to meet established guidelines; may assist in the development of on-line content for virtual course and program delivery.
  • Assists with coordinating department activities, such as maintaining records, communication with staff, researching information, providing support to the coordinator, staff meetings, problem solving, special events, scheduling classes; serves on various committees and makes recommendations on college policies and procedures.
  • Participates in counseling and advising sessions with students including job searches; may maintain regular office hours.
  • Responsible for transport of equipment and supplies for off-site training; monitors proper use and care of the equipment during training; maintains equipment and supplies; organizes, orders materials, and arranges for repair of equipment as needed.
  • Participates in continuing education and professional development courses as assigned; maintains current certifications; must be able to react quickly to potentially dangerous or life threatening situations.
  • Performs needs assessment workforce clients; designs, delivers, evaluates and reports assessment results; customizes curriculum for workforce clients. - (Essential)
