SUMMARY STATEMENT
Manages HCC Bus Transportation Program. Primary Lead Instructor and Supervisor for the CVT Weekend Program. Will be primary trainer for first 4 students enrolled. Assists the CVT Program Coordinator with scheduling of equipment repairs and maintenance of transportation fleet. Assists CVT Program Specialist with recruiting at peak enrollment periods. Assists coordinator with instructor scheduling. This position has a broad range of responsibilities, which include tasks that are conducted at the CVT range location, as well as the HCC main campus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
A. Leader of weekend training program.
B. Coordination of equipment and training facilities.
C. Scheduling of required maintenance on equipment.
D. Perform minor preventative maintenance on equipment.
E. Assists CVT specialist with recruiting, advises and processes
CVT students at peak times.
F. Performs supervisory duties of CVT range in absence of CVT
program coordinator.
G. Ensures charges and expenses for internal HCC bus trips are
assigned to the sponsoring department.
H. Schedule and maintain HCC owned buses.
I. Maintain equipment and facilities on the weekend.
J. Address weekend student concerns.
K. Responsible for hiring and training HCC fleet bus drivers.
L. Responsible for providing instructional training and supervisory
guidance of all adjunct instructors assigned to teach the weekend
program classes.
M. Responsible to manage and enforce the FMCSA directed random DOT
drug screening program required drug testing, for pre-employment
and random test selection thereafter. This is an ongoing
requirement for all CDL holding employees engaged in CVT
operations.
N. Responsible to manage and enforce the FMCSA directed requirement
to conduct full Clearinghouse queries, required for pre-employment
and annually thereafter, for all CDL holding employees.
O. All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A. Position requires a Bachelor degree.
B. Position requires minimum of 5 years of experience as tractor
trailer operator. Also prefer teaching experience in an accredited
or certified CDL driver training program.
C. Must have valid Class A CDL license with a passenger
endorsement. Must have valid DOT medical card.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel programs.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Routine office duties, minor equipment repairs, able to work
outdoors in seasonal weather conditions, must be able to travel
entire day as needed, must maintain valid Class A CDL license to
retain employment.
