Admin Support III - University Research Office

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:
This position is a full-time administrative assistant to coordinate activities of the University Research Office under the direction of the University Research Officer. Principal responsibilities are management of budgets, federal compliance reporting, records, coordination of protocols, and confidential non-compliance protocols for the Institutional Review Board, the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, and the Biosafety Committee. Additionally, the person occupying this position will oversee routine calendars, scheduling, contracts, and communications for this office. Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s related to the Summary of Duties or any combination of education and/or experience totaling four years.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of best practices in records management, compliance with government regulations, meeting scheduling and documentation, and interaction with administration, staff, faculty, students, and external stakeholders.
  • Skills in-office methods, techniques, practices, and procedures. Skill in the use of computers and computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet, databases, and presentations. Skill in the preparation and interpretation of reports, charts, graphs, and tables. Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional customer service orientation and phone etiquette. Maintain confidentiality at all times. Perform a variety of administrative support duties with minimum supervision. Follow oral and written procedures and instructions. Communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing. Must meet and deal with people of diverse backgrounds, maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information, and demonstrate a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to learn and operate specialized software, such as Axiom and CITI, and to train others in the use of such software, Ability to take notes and compile accurate records of meetings.





Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer a degree in the sciences, social sciences, business administration or other administrative field. Experience with managing compliance with government requirements, use of specialized software, such as Axiom and CITI.

  • Frequently | Hearing; perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking level with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discriminations sound.
  • Frequently | Seeing; required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and reports; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive inspection involving small defects, small parts, operations of machines (including inspection) or to make general observations facilities or structure (i.e. security guard, inspectors, etc.); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distance close to the eye.

Pay Range: $31,052 - $38,816
