Denison University, a private, selective undergraduate liberal arts institution seeks a results-oriented individual to join a team of major and planned giving professionals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for working with prospects, donors, and volunteers to cultivate, solicit, and steward outright and deferred gifts. They will manage an appropriate number of major gift prospects to bring them closer to Denison through personal visits, volunteer activities and other contacts. This position will focus on extensive identification and qualification of Denison alumni who live in the western United States.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication
skills are required. In particular, they must be a careful listener
who can gain the trust and respect of prospects and donors and
should demonstrate the ability to work well with a diverse
constituency. The position requires working collaboratively and
proactively with major and planned giving colleagues and with
colleagues throughout the campus.
The successful candidate must be outgoing, energetic, and
hard-working with a “can do” attitude. They should possess a
strong belief in the value of a liberal arts education. Bachelor’s
degree and extensive travel required. A minimum of five years of
fundraising experience or experience in a related field such as
non-profit management, sales, or marketing is required. Prefer
major gift fundraising experience in higher education at the 50k+
level.
