Job Description:
Weber State University invites applications for an Instructor of Developmental Mathematics. The successful candidate will teach courses in developmental and college mathematics, participate collaboratively and professionally with other faculty and staff, and contribute to the department, college, and university in efforts to enhance student success.

Job Duties:
A Developmental Mathematics Instructor works per a one-year renewable contract (at the sole discretion of the university) fulfilling the following duties.
  • Teach pre-college level mathematics and quantitative literacy using research-based mathematics teaching practices
  • Contribute to the work of the department and institution to promote student success


Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Mathematics Education, Mathematics, or equivalent.
Two years of experience teaching developmental mathematics courses or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:
Seeking applicants with excellent verbal, written, and technology-based communication skills and ability to effectively use computer-based course management and course delivery systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in mathematics education
  • Knowledge of and experience implementing effective mathematics teaching practices espoused by the NCTM, AMATYC IMPACT, MAA Common Vision, etc.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high-quality, student-focused undergraduate education.
  • A comprehensive understanding of developmental education.
  • Contribute to departmental efforts to improve student success.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
