The Department of Applied Linguistics/ESL at Georgia State University (downtown Atlanta campus) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor in Natural Language Processing to begin August 2022. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop upper division undergraduate courses and graduate courses and seminars in Natural Language Processing and to supervise graduate research for the M.A. and Ph.D. programs. As appropriate, new faculty will have an opportunity to affiliate with the Department of Computer Science. Tenure-track faculty typically teach a 2-2 course load. Teaching responsibilities include courses at all levels. Applicants are expected to have the following qualifications: 1) a Ph.D. in applied linguistics, linguistics, computer sciences, cognitive sciences, or other related fields by date of hire (August 2022); 2) evidence of the ability to establish and maintain a successful research program; 3) evidence of ability to work on large, collaborative projects; and 4) evidence of the ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
