Civil and Mechanical Engineering

Job Description

Civil and Mechanical Engineering Department is seeking a qualified post-doctoral research associate in the area of computational modelling of turbulent dispersed flows. The project aims at understanding particle deposition in wall-bounded turbulent flows at high Reynolds numbers.

Job duties will include, but are not limited to:

The research will mainly be on performing high fidelity simulations (i.e. Direct numerical simulation) to unveil major mechanisms contributing to the particle deposition in turbulent environments at different Reynolds numbers.

Minimum Qualifications

S uccessful candidate will require a Ph.D. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, with a focus on computational fluid dynamics with solid knowledge of Eulerian-Lagrangian computational methods for disperse multiphase flows. Additionally, the candidate should be able to write reports and prepare presentations to effectively communicate research results.

Preferred Qualifications

Solid knowledge in Fortran programing language and experience with high performance computing

Full Time/Part Time

Full time-40 hours per week, Benefit Eligible

Salary

Range: $34K, twelve-month contact, contingent on funding
