Posting Number: 0600901-NC Position Type: Faculty Pools Position Title: Sterile Processing Instructor, Part-time Division/Department: Healthcare Location Healthcare Occupations Center, Lebanon, OR Job Summary:

Teach sterile processing courses within the Sterile Processing Program. May teach a range of subjects, including but not limited to Sterile Processing specific courses, Customer Service, and Law & Ethics.

Required Qualifications:

Must possess a credential in the field of sterile processing through a national certification agency such as the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Management ( IAHCSMM ) and have a minimum of four years of experience in either the operating room scrub role, sterile processing, or surgical technology.

Preferred Qualifications: Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Essential Duties:

The instructional staff is be responsible for directing, evaluating, and reporting student progress toward course objectives.

Responsible for the periodic review, updating, and development of course materials and curriculum.

Promote excellence in instruction.

Identify and meet the learning needs of students.

Develop course schedules and syllabi.

Plan, develop, and deliver lectures and activities. Develop tests and other assessment methods to evaluate student progress and competence.

Plan, develop, and deliver laboratory instruction incorporating state-of-the-art industry practices.

Work effectively with students and staff of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and ages, and successfully interact with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of an education team.

Communicate effectively in oral and written English.

Keep accurate grade and attendance records in the Learning Management System ( LMS ).

Understand adult education learning theory.
