This is a full-time, tenure-track position to begin preferably spring 2022 in the Department of Education at Concord University, Athens, WV.

 This position includes teaching, curriculum development, assessment, academic advising, scholarship/professional development, and service. 

Duty/Responsibility

This position involves daily (M-F) teaching assignments on campus at the undergraduate level with some online teaching at the graduate level. Related responsibilities include on-site and remote supervision of teacher candidates with P-12 partner schools. Daily on-campus faculty presence is required to participate in curriculum development, student advisement, and service to the department, college, and university as well as active engagement within the community.  

All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, on-going research, publication, and/or other professional activities, and service in order to enhance the preparation of educators and their future impact on P-12 students.

Education/Knowledge

Minimum Education

Master's

Required Licenses/Certification

ABD in Elementary Education or closely related field from an accredited institution required.
 
Licensed or license eligible as an elementary education teacher in WV 

 

An earned doctorate in education or complementary program is preferred and is required for consideration of tenure. Evidence of teaching and/or advising at the postsecondary level preferred; experience with course development; experienced and competent with use of instructional technology; expertise in language and literacy development; experience with or willingness to participate in accreditation work.

Strong interpersonal and collaborative ability, effective teacher, scholarly and service driven, and adherence to professional ethical practices.
