The Conservatory of Music at Capital University invites applications for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Percussion beginning Fall 2022. The successful candidate will instruct undergraduate percussion majors, direct percussion ensembles, teach percussion methods class, and perform other duties as assigned, including administering the percussion department, engaging in recruitment, auditions, advising, and maintaining a current profile of artistic activity and service to the university and profession.

Qualifications: Doctorate in Music or Master's in Music, with extensive and significant professional experience. Demonstrated excellence in collegiate teaching and recruitment is expected, an established professional profile as a performer and pedagogue is desired. The candidate will demonstrate expertise in various areas, including orchestral percussion, marching percussion, contemporary percussion, drum set, steel drum and an understanding of current trends in music industry and technology. Other qualifications include excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and in a collegial, professional manner with students, faculty, and staff; and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; broader than race, ethnicity, and gender identity.
