Video and Motion Graphics Specialist (PT)

Salary: $20.00 per hour

MVCC Marketing and Communications is looking for a talented, passionate, and proactive Video and Motion Graphics Specialist to join our fast-paced, collaborative creative team. The day-to-day of the role will require proven pre- to post-production video editing, graphics animation, and photo shooting skills. We are looking for an October 2021 start based in Utica on a part-time, 20 hour/week basis. Much of the production is expected to occur on campus. The post-production is expected to be remote.

This part-time position may be responsible for the shooting, development, and editing of video content to be used in multiple marketing vehicles including the College’s main website, social media outlets, and athletic website.

Thorough collaboration is required with the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications and campus partners on the creation and production of impactful video and motion graphics content to ensure that all communications related to the College's reputation, programs and initiatives are accurate, fair, and supportive of the Mission of Mohawk Valley Community College.

This individual may interact with senior leadership, deans, faculty, students, and alumni, most commonly in meetings and conversations that serve as a basis for stories and filming opportunities. The ideal candidate is a filmmaker with the ability to identify various public relations and video opportunities and the communication skills to bring these opportunities to fruition.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Supporting and collaborating with our in-house creative team, internal stakeholders, and external partners
  • Leveraging existing video content to produce new creatives that comply with the varying social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Performing necessary quality controls for all videos with extensive attention to detail including color correction, white balance, and other general video quality enhancements to align with brand art direction
  • Ensuring final deliverables are platform and format ready
  • Applying motion graphics to still photos, art layers, and text
  • Collaborating with College’s videographer/editor
  • Independently producing, setting up, recording, capturing, and editing media production projects and media-related materials, including digital videos, audio files, and other electronic media
  • Assisting with the marketing and promotion of various branding and special events
  • Assisting social media coordinator with crafting content for posts


Qualifications:


Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in video production, broadcasting, communications, or a related field
  • Three (3) or more years of professional experience in video and/or motion graphics
  • Experience in a marketing/communications environment
  • Extensive editing knowledge using Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Creative Suite applications
  • Excellent editing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, in both individual and team settings
  • Strong storytelling skills
  • Available to work flexible work schedules/hours including weekends and holidays and early start time
  • Strong communication skills and ability to take creative direction and bring it to life through videos


Preferred Qualifications:

  • A valid driver license at the time of hire and for the duration of employment
  • Experience in higher education
