The Department of Biological Sciences at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in bacteriology beginning August, 2022 at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
We seek highly collaborative candidates with expertise in bacteriology. The Department of Biological Sciences at Auburn University is a scientifically broad, welcoming and inclusive community of 39 research faculty and over 100 graduate students. Graduate programs include Ph.D. and M.S. programs in biological sciences and a graduate certificate in Computational Biology. Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in microbiology or a closely related discipline at the time the appointment begins, and relevant postdoctoral experience. The successful candidate must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.
Desired Qualifications
Candidates whose research addresses molecular mechanisms underlying host-bacterial interactions, or the functional contributions of microbiota within hosts, are desired. Desired qualifications also include a strong publication record, teaching experience, and ability to acquire extramural funding to support an internationally recognized research program. Instructional responsibilities include development of graduate and/or undergraduate courses in microbiology related to their area of emphasis.
