Assistant Professor of Dance

Department of Dance

 

Kennesaw State University invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position in The Department of Dance starting August 2022.

 

We are particularly interested in candidates who can advance the department’s commitment to excellence through diversity, and who can develop curricula with broad perspectives on the field of dance.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • The successful candidate is expected to teach courses in Dance History, Analysis and Criticism, general education, and other topics in the candidate’s area of
  • The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain a peer-reviewed body of published dance scholarship as stipulated by departmental
  • The successful candidate is expected to engage in institutional and professional
  • Additional departmental responsibilities include student recruitment, program assessment, and participation in department and university activities.

 

Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Dance History/Theory, Dance Studies, Performance Studies, or related fields (at time of hire) is required.

 

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • At least two years of collegiate teaching and mentoring
  • An active research portfolio of peer-reviewed scholarship/creative activity in dance history and dance studies
  • Evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community
