40% Research:
  1. Maintain an active research program

40% Teaching:
  1. Participate actively in graduate instruction in educational administration. Courses assigned may be in-person, online or hybrid.
  2. Advise graduate students at the M.S.Ed., Ed.D, and Ph.D. levels, including directing doctoral dissertations
  3. Hold regular office hours
20% Service
  1. Participate in the regular academic activities of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies
  2. Provide general service to the department, school, university, and discipline
  3. Provide scholarly service at the institutional, district, state, regional and/or national level as appropriate

Position Overview

The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in the University of Kansas School of Education and Human Sciences is searching for a tenure track, Assistant Professor position in K-12 educational administration. Responsibilities include teaching and conducting research in one or more of the following areas: educational business and finance, human resource management, or related studies within the field of educational administration. Candidate's research and professional practice should demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. This position is a full-time, academic year (9-month), tenure track appointment with a start date of August 18, 2022.

The successful candidate will teach courses on the main campus in Lawrence, Kansas and the KU Edwards campus in Overland Park (metro Kansas City). This position must be able to be physically present on KU’s Lawrence campus with scheduled office hours, on-campus instruction, committee meetings, etc. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S. by the time of appointment.
