The Oakland University Eye Research Insitute is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in neuro and vascular biology. This is a training position designed for an individual to learn, through engagement, in an advanced level of scientific, technical and administrative work in an assigned laboratory or clinical research setting. The Oakland University Eye Research Insitute is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in neuro and vascular biology. This is a training position designed for an individual to learn, through engagement, in an advanced level of scientific, technical and administrative work in an assigned laboratory or clinical research setting. Responsibilities include
- participation in research data collection and documentation within relevant guidelines and protocols;
- develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures;
- publish results in scientific journals and
- perform a variety of complex chemical biological, cytologic, microscopic, histologic, surgical, as well as statistical/computational and dissection procedures.
- Experience as former postdoctoral fellow, graduate student, research assistant, technician, or lab manager
- Competency in research techniques
- Ability to write and communicate and use Microsoft office clearly
- Ability to learn new computer programs for data analysis and manuscript publication
- Experience with flow cytometer, RT-PCR, Cell Culture preferred in vascular and or neuronal cells, animal experiments, Western blot, PCR, immunohistochemistry and imaging, and ELISA
- Ability to do morphometric analysis and data analysis independently and maintaining raw data in organized manner
- Experience of working in the field of neuro- and vascular biology. Molecular Biology and experience with flow cytometer and or LC/MS
