The Content Developer at the Collaborative to Advance Health Services (the Collaborative) at the School of Nursing and Health Studies in the University of Missouri-Kansas City will function independently within a diverse interdisciplinary team. The professional in this position will deliver creative work, such as copy writing and developing infographics, rewriting of existing content, proofreading content, managing multiple social media accounts and content development for multiple project websites, publishing articles to eNewsletters and other web-based media. The content developer will design graphics to go with text under the supervision of the communications team. The individual will also provide project management, assist in communication strategy development and meet multiple project deadlines in a timely fashion.

We are looking for a self-directed critical thinker willing to learn the ropes before taking the reins. Our environment is fast-paced and ever-changing. Strong candidates will be quick learners and nimble multi-taskers. Job Description

  • Excellent overall writing skills in a number of different styles/tones
  • Impeccable spelling and grammar
  • Good listening, critical analysis and research skills
  • Ability to take complex information and turn it into easy-to-understand copy
  • Competency in layout and design of published content (e.g., web banner, flyer)
  • High-level skills in software like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Google Docs, CRM tools, and the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with online marketing and outreach
  • Multitasking abilities
  • Understanding of writing and formatting articles for the web
  • Work with marketing/creative team to identify gaps in content and recommend new topics
  • Able to research topics and stay abreast of industry trends that could be leveraged in content
  • Interprets and adapts information from various sources to meet marketing objectives
  • Self-motivated and poised in a fast-paced, driven environment with demanding deadlines.
  • Able to deal with last minute creative direction and multiple rounds of edits.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in journalism or communication; Master’s preferred

· Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a complex work environment

· Knowledge of public health, healthcare and behavioral health fields
