Summary of Job Duties:The Director of Career, Testing and Tutoring Services is a full-time, 12-month, professional position reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor for Student Engagement. The Director will serve as the primary contact for all career, testing and tutoring support services.

Core responsibilities include management and oversight in the development and care of students through individual support and direct oversight of all careers, testing and tutoring services. The Director must quickly become knowledgeable of all major aspects of the University of Arkansas at Monticello, have a thorough understanding of the institution’s vision and mission, and have a proven ability to work with students, faculty, staff, administration, and the public with decorum, civility, equity, collegiality, and integrity.

Career Services Responsibilities: Oversee all activities undertaken by Career Services. Responsible for assisting students and alumni in career decision making and educational planning. Design and implement career services program (e.g., job fairs, employer recruitment events, current open positions, university student worker positions etc.). Plan and promote career fairs, on-campus recruiting opportunities for employers, other career-related events, student success workshops, classroom visits, lectures, and support activities. Coordinate services, maintain schedule and oversees budget.

Testing Services Responsibilities: Plan, organize, and direct administrative activities relating to all testing programs. Strive to maintain a testing environment that is friendly and supportive of all students, other test takers and ensure that all tests are administered fairly and consistently. Manage testing center activities and staff, write procedures and guidelines for all testing activities as needed, adhere to all procedures and guidelines for national testing activities and ensure uniform implementation of proper testing policies and procedures. Maintain security of all testing materials received, inventoried, shipped, and strictly follow all guidelines and procedures set by testing entities. Oversee and review all annual center contracts and budgets.

Peer Tutor Supervisor Responsibilities: Perform duties relevant to tutoring services including scheduling, hiring, training, and evaluating tutors.

Other Duties and Responsibilities: Perform other functions as necessary or assigned.

Supervision: Supervises student workers, student peer tutors, graduate assistant, VISTA Members, and one full - time staff.

Required qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn to navigate a variety of test center platforms; Strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment; the ability to work professionally with time sensitive projects in an environment where technical accuracy matters; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly, facilitating positive relationships across a wide range of constituencies; the capability to establish and maintain effective, collaborative working relationships; and skilled at helping to foster student success and teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications:

Significant experience as a Test Center administrator and/or proctor. 3 – 5 years’ experience in a college or university setting as a Programmer, Project Manager, Coordinator or Director and Test Center Administrator Certification
