About the Position:
Registration and Records is committed to serving students and the campus community by providing quality service that facilitates enrollment, retention, and degree completion, while maintaining accurate academic records for the University. We are also responsible for processing transfer credit, maintaining articulation agreements, with other institutions. Additionally, we register new and continuing students for classes, maintain academic records, prepare transcripts and diplomas, and reviews petitions for exception to University Policy. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Titan Degree Audit Encoder (Administrative Analyst/Specialist-Exempt I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Under the general direction of the Associate Registrar and the Titan Degree Audit (TDA) Support Services Manager, this position is responsible for providing support and assistance in the maintenance of the Degree Audit system. Based on the understanding of CSUF academic rules, regulations, policies, and degree requirements, assist with the maintenance of the degree audit system. Encodes newly approved program or course changes, or new degree requirements into the TDA using the u.Achieve software. Research degree program requirements to ensure accurate Titan Degree Audit (TDA) encoding. Coordinate with Academic Programs and Department chairs to ensure TDA is up to date to match approved curriculum and catalog. Assist with adding or correcting rules in u.Achieve Transfer Articulation tables, including pending rules. Investigate TDA issues to aid in TDA template troubleshooting; Perform testing of TDA templates; Participate in enhancement/automation projects relating to TDA processes, including the academic planning software u.Direct. Maintain and contribute producing TDA documentation. Process individual degree audit exceptions or adjustments into u.Achieve, Processes individual degree audit adjustments. Collaborate with faculty or staff to address questions and issues with individual degree audit exceptions; Investigate and resolve TDA Exception issues; Provide assistance in monitoring and analyzing TDA Exception data/ statistics. Assists with training faculty, advisors, and staff in using the TDA, and related tools. Responds to student inquiries relating to TDA. Participates in enhancement/ automation projects relating to TDA processes, including academic planning software u.Direct. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus two years of related experience.

Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Skilled in research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Expertise investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferred.

Ability to: gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations; participate in and contribute to group meetings, conferences, and interviews; make oral presentations; clearly express ideas; write clear and concise reports; utilize word processing and data programs; work effectively under pressure and complete assignments in a timely manner; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, administrators, staff, and students at CSUF and at other colleges and universities. Three to five years of experience with degree audit performance tools such as DARwin, U.direct, and U.achieve.

Ability to use a PC, Microsoft Office, and database students record systems such as PeopleSoft CMS, ASSIST, U.Achieve, Acalog, and FileNET. Experience working as a transfer credit or graduation evaluator. Knowledge of CSUF policies and procedures.

Understanding of CSU Executive Orders, including policies and procedures pertinent to the General Education curriculum.
