About the Position:
The College of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) is committed to educating engineers and computer scientists who will graduate with state-of-the art knowledge in their chosen field and are ready to embark on careers in industry and government, or proceed to acquire advanced degrees in their own or related fields. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Human Resource Analyst (Administrative Analyst/Specialist-Exempt I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

The Human Resource Analyst provides high-level administrative support primarily to the Dean, Associate Dean, and other college administrators. Conducts complex administrative analysis for departmental administrators. Develops and recommends new administrative organizational structure, policies and procedures, and presents recommendations to the Dean and other college departments. Maintains confidential information. As the human resources liaison for the college, this employee is specifically responsible for facilitating and providing guidance and support for hiring, timekeeping, and pay processing for faculty, staff, and student workers employed by the college units, overseeing the CMS position management process for the College in coordination with Human Resource Diversity and Inclusion (HRDI) and Payroll. Prepares and files paperwork for confidential personnel actions. Coordinates the process between the college and HRDI and/or Faculty Affairs and Records for staff, RTP, PTR, and temporary faculty evaluations. Facilitates and monitors activities related to new faculty and staff searches and recruitment. Facilitates all aspects of position management and data integrity. Assists with and monitors the preparation of part-time faculty contracts. Monitors college personnel working files to ensure completeness. Interacts and collaborates with the Principal Analyst of Budget and Financial Operations for the college in order to make fiscally sound Human Resource decisions. Responsible for creating student task profiles to track various unit expenses. Communicates effectively with others. Organizes and plans work to meet deadlines. Collects and evaluates research data; writes clear communications using correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with college colleagues, the campus community at large, students, and members of the public. Represents the college with tact and diplomacy. Serves as the lead for college commencement planning activities. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus two years of related experience.

Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Skilled in research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Expertise investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.
