Department Summary
The Lundquist College of Business (LCB) is one of seven schools housing academic programs on the University of Oregon campus. The college works cooperatively with other UO Colleges and Schools to prepare students for a broad range of career paths. There are approximately 101 full- and part-time faculty members, 75 staff positions, 1,254 undergraduate majors, 1,125 undergraduate minors, 260 master's students and 36 doctoral students. The annual budget of the college is approximately $28 million.

Position Summary
The Associate Director of Graduate Student Experience will have the opportunity to work with a team of staff and faculty that is dedicated to the success of our graduate students from the time they think about joining our program up to and including the time that they become alumni.

This position is responsible for the oversight, management, and implementation of student services for current Eugene based graduate programs (MBA, MSF and MAcc).

The Associate Director will work closely with the Associate Dean for Student Experience to ensure a high quality experience for incoming and current students and will provide support and context for applying complex student services to the organization's management, faculty and students. The Associate Director oversees advising and is integral in decisions regarding course waivers, the fulfillment of departmental course prerequisites and requirements, and the implementation of policies related to academic performance and probation.

An important part of this role will be working closely with the heads of the Lundquist College of Business centers of excellence, academic committees as necessary, and other faculty and staff as required. This position also collaborates with other student-facing units such as Lundquist Admissions and Mohr Career Services.

The Associate Director supervises the Assistant Director of Graduate Student Experience, and student employees.

This is a full-time, 12-month professional position that reports to the Assistant Dean for Graduate Programs.

Minimum Requirements
  • Master's degree in related area, or the equivalent combination of education and relevant advising experience.
  • Four years of experience working with college students and the ability to assess individual capabilities.
  • Three years of supervisory experience.

  • Knowledge of business practices and those industries relevant to Lundquist graduate students.
  • In-depth knowledge of post-degree employment opportunities and practices for students graduating from a business school.

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Five years of experience in higher education advising setting.
  • A proven track record of developing, building, and assessing successful programs.
