Basic Function:
Under the direction of the Site Supervisor, the person in this position will provide customer service to all students, faculty and staff, as well as with other visitors at the Center, while assisting with the maintenance, safety, and operations of this facility ensuring an effective, smooth operation of the Center. This position will entail working a combination of days, evenings, and weekends, and is a non-traditional work schedule; hours will vary depending on the academic calendar.

Representative Duties:
  • Offer customer service to inquiries from students, faculty, and staff, as well as other visitors by giving accurate and timely verbal and written communication, and provide referrals to appropriate on-campus contacts. E
  • Under the direction of the Site Supervisor, plan and coordinate the maintenance, safety, and operations of the facility; communicate with the property manager regarding building repairs, security, parking, custodial services, and other matters as needed; communicate with vendors and contractors regarding repairs or services. E
  • Assist and serve as an on-site University representative to outside rental groups utilizing the Centers for specific seminars, retreats, meetings, and training sessions. Lend support to each to ensure satisfaction with both the Centers and services provided. E
  • Perform a variety of clerical activities including place and receive phone calls and emails; take messages or route to appropriate faculty or staff; photocopy various materials; answer questions regarding the Centers; pick up and distribute mail as appropriate; send and receive fax transmittals. E
  • Coordinate building safety and security measures by monitoring those entering the Centers, learn about specific life safety systems and perform periodic tests of emergency equipment, and coordinate building evacuation when necessary. Patrol building interior to ensure various areas are open and/or secured as appropriate. Administer building security systems, including cameras and door alarms and ensure that building entrances and exits are secured at the end of the day. E
  • Develop relationships with various departments on the main campus as well as with the property managers at the center. E
  • Assure safe and proper cleanliness of rooms; clean and re-arrange classroom furniture as needed. E
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports related to assigned activities; maintain a filing system and update files as needed. E
  • Operate a computer and other office equipment as assigned; operate and perform minor repairs on assigned audio-visual equipment. E
  • Attend a variety of meetings as assigned; assist with orientation meetings and advisement sessions as requested. E
  • Assist instructors and students with all audio-visual equipment including the computer, Internet, and projectors. E
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Center policies and procedures.
  • Methods of maintaining the facility in proper condition.
  • Programs offered at the Center as well as on the main campus at CLU.
  • Operation of a computer and applicable software applications (Microsoft Office, Excel, Datatel, ASTRA, etc.)
  • Operation and maintenance of printers
  • Operation and maintenance of assigned audio-visual equipment.
  • Operation and maintenance of the copy machine

  • Understand database systems.
  • Organize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Plan and coordinate the maintenance and operations of the facility.
  • Assure safe and proper cleanliness of rooms.
  • Perform a variety of clerical activities.
  • Work independently with little direction; be able to take initiative in getting work completed.


Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination equivalent to: Two years of college-level coursework and 1 year experience managing an office or off-site facility.
