Job Summary
Chart strategic direction as a key member of the Enterprise Architecture team. Ensure sustained, strong, and consistent services are provided to campus community. Provide overall leadership for design, development and implementation of academic technology support services. Partner with academic leadership to develop a coordinated technology program and services for faculty. Define and communicate academic technology vision in collaboration with key academic stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with campus leadership
  • Work with other units within University IT and related constituents across the campus community
  • Maintain expertise in new and emerging instructional technologies
  • Benchmark, analyze, report and make recommendations for improvement and growth of academic technologies
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for applications spending and initiatives
  • Lead staff efforts to increase cybersecurity in daily operations and the design/implementation of IT systems
  • Consult and advise Directors on technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Work with stakeholders to define business requirements for new technology implementations
  • Develop Requests for Proposal (RFPs)
  • Negotiate and administer vendor/outsourcer/consultant contracts and service agreements in conjunction with University IT Purchasing Department
  • Lead operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning, and projects and organizing and negotiating resource allocation related to all academic technologies, including instructional and academic administrative areas
  • Approve and oversee projects and project portfolios
  • Represent University IT on committees and in campus meetings, as requested
  • Mentor team members and plan/implement staff development for Learning Technology Support Department
  • Participate on RFP committees
  • Manage budget and vendor relationships
  • Assist in developing departmental and campus-wide policies
  • Streamline business processes
  • Promote development and awareness of innovative technologies and technology services for the advancement of teaching, learning, and academic administration services
  • Provide leadership and expertise in administering the University learning management system

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business or a related field

Required Experience
  • Five (5) or more years of experience
  • Management experience in enterprise applications and business process improvement

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Business or a related field

Preferred Experience
  • Related management experience in enterprise applications and business process improvement in higher education environment

Proposed Salary
$79,100 - $85,514

  • Understanding of emerging learning technologies and practices and leveraging them in the learning environment
  • Knowledge of a wide range of modern information and instructional support technologies, including e-Commerce, new media, data networks, and online education
  • Proficiency in presenting technical and business subjects to technical and non-technical audiences
