The Department of Hospitality & Tourism at Purdue University Fort Wayne invites applications for a non-tenure track, 9-month, Lecturer in Hospitality & Tourism beginning January 2022.  The department seeks candidates with primary expertise in culinary and food and beverage operations, with a solid background in teaching. The candidate should have advanced knowledge of menu development, production, and quantity food preparation. Additionally, experience in catering and events would be excellent. The successful candidate will teach four undergraduate courses per semester in Fall and Spring. Courses may occasionally be taught online, but typically will be offered face-to-face. The lecturer will participate in service by being active in the life of the department and university, including development of the program, student recruitment, and other duties as needed.  

 

Candidates should have a master’s or doctoral degree in Hospitality & Tourism or related field or hold 18 credit hours in hospitality if their master’s degree is in an outside area. Candidate should have valid Food Protection Manager Certification, and attain Instructor/Proctor status with Servsafe within the first 6 months of employment. The position is contingent upon available funding and a satisfactory background check.
