The Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport Studies is seeking to hire a nine-month,  tenure-track assistant/associate professor. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate excellence in research, teaching, and service.  The position begins August 1, 2022.

Responsibilities:

The department is home to 24 faculty members and 8 staff members. There are two undergraduate majors: Kinesiology, and Recreation & Sport Management.  In total, there are approximately 1,300 undergraduate majors. There are several Master’s degree programs, and a PhD degree program in Kinesiology and Sport Studies. In total, there are approximately 140 graduate majors.

Qualifications:

Required: The successful applicant will be expected to engage in high-impact scholarly research, submit grant proposals, and supervise student research /advise departmental graduate students. In addition, the successful applicant will demonstrate excellent teaching in graduate and undergraduate classes, and will be expected to engage in service activities at the department, college and university level.

Desired: Postdoctoral work and university teaching experience are desired. Multi-disciplinary research is desired. Service to higher education institutions, professional organizations, government agencies, and the community are also desired. 

Compensation:

Salary is dependent on qualifications, and a comprehensive benefits package is provided.  Opportunity for summer teaching exists.
