Position Summary:

Provides confidential consultation, assessment, referral, and advocacy with providers for faculty and staff, their family members or significant others to find resolutions to personal, work-related, behavioral, and/or health problems.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's Degree Required

Master's Degree preferred, in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Nursing (Psychiatric/Mental Health) or related field, with Employee Assistance experience.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Required:
1. Minimum of two years' experience providing full-time counseling/assessment in an outpatient mental health, substance abuse and/or employee assistance setting
2. Experience working with diverse populations and settings
3. Experience providing critical incident response and trauma informed approaches to crisis response

Preferred:
1. Experience in an employee assistance program
2. Experience providing counseling and consultation to a diverse, adult population
3. Cultural competency with a broad variety of clients: LGBTQ, law enforcement, senior leadership, racial and ethnic diversity, generational differences, etc.
4. Experience developing and delivering training and educational programs to diverse audiences
5. Experience in consultation and collaboration in higher education with campus and community partners
6. Experience working effectively in a collaborative and collegial manner
7. Experience in group facilitation
8. Structured conflict resolution facilitation experience
9. Experience facilitating established small group, supportive crisis/trauma intervention processes (e.g., Critical Incident Stress Debriefing [CISD]

Skills and Abilities:
1. Ability to create, implement and carry out projects
2. Independent problem-solving and analytical abilities
3. Strong organizational and consultation skills
4. Computing skills, Microsoft Office, Canvas, etc.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
6. Ability to administer and interpret workplace metrics

License or Certificate:

Social Work, Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Counselor, Substance Abuse Counselor or other behavioral health license or certification including Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) preferred.
