Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $14,583 - $16,666 per month

Full classification Salary Range: $6,250 - $18,750 per month

Salary is competitive and negotiable depending on the strength of qualifications. This is a CSU Management Personnel Plan (MPP) position.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

This position, under the general direction of the Associate Vice President for Student Health, Counseling and Wellness, will provide direct clinical care and clinical oversight for services, including primary care and preventative care, for over 24,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

Success in this position will require a strong clinician and leader with a deep commitment to and understanding of young adult contemporary healthcare issues, proven experience and skills to work effectively with a diverse population, and a high-energy readiness to develop and enrich a talented group of health professionals. The Director is responsible for directing operations of the medical services, radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy. The Director is responsible for quality management and standards for all medical patient care programs, including planning, policy development, procedural review and safety. Establishes partnerships and collaborates with campus departments, other medical professionals, consultants, and organizations, including government agencies and advocacy groups, to develop, support and coordinate student health services and to represent the interests of the SHCC to improve medical clinic efficiency and services to students. In collaboration with other SHCC administrators, provides strategic leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality, cost-effective health care to Fresno State students and efficient management of staff in accordance with goals, objectives, policies and applicable regulatory agency rules and regulations.

Key Qualifications

• Accreditation standards/certification processes, medical regulations, procedures and ethics in regard to the delivery of medical and clinical services.
• General safety practices in a health center environment and quality/continuous improvement philosophies.
• Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of effective management and supervision, motivation, and performance evaluation.
• Knowledge of computer office and health management systems and ability to use a broad range of technology, systems, and software packages.

Education and Experience

• Must have current unrestricted State of California licensure as MD, DO, or NP
• Possess and maintain a valid federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration/certificate and number for prescribing controlled substances
• Appropriate Board Certification
• Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator (CPR/AED) certification
• Progressive clinical practice including evidence of administrative and supervisory responsibility
