The Department of Teacher Education in the
Dewar College of Education and Human Services seeks applicants for
a tenure track faculty position beginning January 2, 2022.
The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in
the candidate’s area of expertise, maintaining scholarly
productivity, and participating in service at the department,
college, and University levels.

with 26 initial teacher, advanced teacher, and service degree

Teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in the
department in a variety of modalities to include on campus and
online (synchronous and asynchronous); supervising field experience
and clinical practice; fostering relationships with teachers and
administrators across the state; supporting schools within the
region; mentoring candidates of diverse cultures and backgrounds;
scholarly productivity; participating in service activities at the
department, college, and University levels.
- Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Elementary Education or Teacher
- Minimum of five years teaching experience in a U.S. K-12
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning,
as well as scholarship;
- Commitment to student retention and success;
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Successful college-level teaching in elementary education
- Leadership experience in K-12 setting;
- Experience teaching online courses;
- Expertise in the use of technology for teaching and

The Dewar College of Education and Human Services prepares
professionals for multiple roles in 21st century educational,
