Farmingdale State College (FSC) is the State University of New York's largest college of applied science and technology with an enrollment of approximately 10,000 students. Farmingdale State College invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Business Management at the Assistant Professor level. Excellent communications and collaboration skills are required. Ability to teach from among a range of courses such as Management Theory, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Compensation and Performance Management, Conflict Management, Business Ethics, and Corporate Social Responsibility.

All faculty members at Farmingdale State College have three workload components: teaching, research and scholarly activity, and service. Service includes advising students as well as serving on departmental and college wide committees. The successful candidate will demonstrate an interest and high level of competence in teaching. The college offers courses in hybrid, online and traditional face-to-face modalities. Candidates should have a research agenda that complements their area of academic specialty that will lead to peer-reviewed publications and presentations, both of which are necessary for promotion and tenure at Farmingdale State College. The successful candidate for this position will be expected to maintain their qualifications as a Scholarly Academic as per the Business Management department's faculty qualifications guidelines.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ph.D. in Business or a closely related field with an emphasis on Organizational Behavior or Human Resource Management from a regionally accredited college or university. ABD with all degree requirements including dissertation defense by June 30, 2022 will be considered.
  • An established research agenda.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous college teaching experience.
  • Knowledge of course instructional technologies and online course management systems such as Blackboard.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time, 10 month, tenure track faculty position.

  • For the first 10 working days, beginning Friday, September 17, 2021 and ending Thursday, September 30, 2021, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
