Counselor Education and Supervision faculty (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor)

The Department of Special Education, Counseling, and Student Affairs in the College of Education at Kansas State University (K-State) invites applications for a tenure-track professor (assistant, associate, or full) in counselor education and supervision. The position offers the successful candidate an opportunity for providing programmatic leadership and innovation along with collaboration with award-winning colleagues and students in a Research I university.

The M.S. in School Counseling and Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision programs are CACREP and CAEP accredited, and the faculty are recognized for excellence in teaching, service, and research. Responsibilities
The position involves teaching graduate courses for the M.S. in School Counseling and Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision programs. The courses in these programs are offered in various modalities, including in-person, online, and blended, and some of them may incorporate supervising students’ clinical practicum and internship experiences. Other responsibilities include advising graduate students, engaging in research and creative endeavors, seeking external funding, providing service, participating in faculty governance, and being involved with professional counseling organizations at the state and national levels.

Required Qualifications
• Earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited program, or have a related doctoral degree and been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013.
• Professional counseling experience
• Successful counseling supervision experience
• Potential for excellence in instruction and advising both on-campus and online
• Potential for scholarly activity that results in professional publications and presentations in the area of counselor education and supervision
• Ability to implement and integrate instructional technology in learning management systems
• Successful experience working with and supporting diverse populations and pursuing equity and social justice
• Membership and involvement in professional counseling organizations
• Record of attendance at professional counseling conferences

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience as a school counselor
• Knowledge of and commitment to school counseling as a comprehensive program (e.g., ASCA National Model)
• Record of excellence in instruction and advising, both on-campus and online
• Record of scholarly activity resulting in professional publications and presentations in the area of counselor education and supervision
• Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, CACREP accreditation and assessment of student learning outcomes
• Demonstrated record of experience with multicultural counseling, cultural identity development, and social justice and advocacy
• NCC, school counseling license, licensed professional counselor, and/or other counseling credentials
• Record of leadership in professional counseling organizations
