The University of Mount Olive invites applications for full-time director of an online Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program position, starting no later than January 1, 2022. This position would be a faculty appointment of 12 months. Position reports directly to the Assistant Dean for Behavioral and Health Sciences within the School of Arts and Sciences.

Position Description: Preference will be given to applicants that demonstrate knowledge, experience, and skill set to serve as academic program leader, to articulate program vision within the context of the University’s mission, lead CACREP accreditation process. The ideal candidate will demonstrate problem-solving skills, ability to manage data, and understand human behavior. Responsibilities include teaching online graduate Counseling courses; develop and guide curriculum development alignment to CACREP standards; chair applicant interview committee; direct student advising; recommend, supervise and mentor program faculty; coordinate course rotation schedules; guide program and student assessment plans; develop annual reports; coordinate and collaborate with areas of the university; teach an annual load of 12 semester hours. Faculty are required to be contributing members of the department, the school and university.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in Counselor Education or closely related clinical-based doctorate degree. Degree(s) must be from regionally accredited institution(s).
  • Active and unrestricted National Certified Counselor; and, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor from NCBLCMHC; and, or other related clinical professional license within six months of employment.
  • Eligible for LCMHC Supervisor designation within one year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications: .

  • Experience developing and/or teaching graduate online Counseling courses within CACREP-accredited program/s.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership within higher education.
  • Professional counseling experience strongly preferred.
  • Graduate from a CACREP-accredited program.
  • Experience leading a counseling program through CACREP accreditation process
