This position reports to and is under the direction of the President of Sinclair Community College, and is a member of the President’s Cabinet . The Chief Financial Officer is Sinclair’s leading financial management expert and provides direct day-to-day leadership over the financial planning and analysis, accounting, auditing, internal controls, investments, and fiscal management systems of both Sinclair College and the Sinclair College Foundation.

Description:

  • Is an effective teammate and works within the administrative team to help ensure that college resources are used to realize more community alignment; growth of programs, growth of enrollment, and increased student success; and to improve student outcomes in diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Responsible for articulating and cultivating a clear understanding across the college of Sinclair financial conditions, trends, and alternative options; monitors and develops plans associated with the college’s major funding sources (tuition, State and levy funding) with particular attention to the State of Ohio’s performance-based funding formula. Especially important is supporting an environment of innovation, the support of teaching, and driving for the result of community-aligned student learning.

  • Identify short and long-term trends and understandings of how financial operations and business services support and enhance the essential services of the learning college; providing input on capabilities, requirements, and budget priorities to ensure alignment of financial strategies with Sinclair’s strategic plan and the learning college philosophy; and, implementing innovative, effective, and efficient business solutions.

  • Responsible for coordinating the development of Sinclair’s long-range financial plans and annual budget; developing plans for managing financial reserves and financing capital investments; developing and maintaining clear and transparent financial records and reports; managing institutional investments, cash flow and asset optimization; and, the implementation of financial policies and procedures that strengthen the effectiveness of the institution.

  • Serves as Treasurer of the Sinclair College Board of Trustees, Treasurer of the Sinclair College Foundation, is one of the Sinclair liaisons to the Ohio Association of Community Colleges and is a liaison to the Ohio Department of Higher Education.
